A customer approached us to help them clean up a Production Row in which the patching quality had deteriorated from years of growth, changes and unmanaged quality control. The challenge was the time frame in which the work was to be performed. A complete Audit of the patching infrastructure had to be completed within a 3 day after hour window prior to a Friday evening through Sunday morning cut over. All 800 patch cords where audited, documented, removed and re-patched with custom length cords for a Monday morning go live. Two teams of technicians worked around the clock to meet this aggressive schedule. Not only did the teams have to work on the patching aspect of the project but also had to retrofit a custom new wire management infrastructure into the existing row of racks . This new Wire Management was put in place to help organize patch cord routing and future expansion.
